I’m not sure about you guys but my Camp Nano took a hike. And not the scenic, beautiful route that gives you an endless source of inspiration. But the kind where you fall into a lake, gets chased by a bear and hugs a tree for the entire night because in all the chaos you lost track of the path and now you’re lost and you’re pretty sure the raccoons wants to eat your ass for dinner.
And I could use the excuse of a stomach bug that was haunting me for over a week. But lets face it, I could have finished 30000 words if I really put my mind to it despite being sick. But I didn’t.
Like the biggest explanation I got is that I fell of the wagon and never got back up again. Doing my art stuff was more fun and I put my time into that instead of writing.
I started out strong for the first 2 weeks and then I got sick and queue faceplant.
In the end I managed to write 15935 words which was just over half of my goal. And I’m happy that I took on the project of editing and rewriting even if it didn’t go as planned. I still have a large majority of the work left and I’m not even sure I’ll keep what I wrote over the past month. However I’m still happy with my work. In any case, I know more about the characters and their lives. Small victories all around!
Just because Camp Nano is over doesn’t mean I can start (continue) slacking. There’s no time like the present!
I hope every participant of Camp Nano had a good month and maybe I’ll see you guys in June. Until then, stay happy and creative!
